Expert Wasp Control in Birmingham, AL
Wasp Control
Don't let wasps take over your yard.
If you’ve ever stepped outside and found wasps circling your porch or garden, you know how fast that peaceful moment can turn stressful. Wasps in Birmingham don’t just make outdoor time uncomfortable—they can also pose a real threat, especially if they decide your home is a good spot to build a nest.
Why wasps choose your property
Wasps love warmth, shelter, and access to food. That’s why they tend to settle under eaves, inside vents, near gutters, or in bushes close to the house. Southern summers give them the perfect environment to thrive, and if left unchecked, they can quickly go from nuisance to danger.
Are wasps dangerous?
Yes—and not just because of their sting. For most folks, a wasp sting is painful but manageable. But if you’re allergic, even one sting can be life-threatening. Wasps are territorial, and if they feel threatened, they can become aggressive fast. Some species, like yellow jackets, don’t wait for a reason to sting—they’ll defend their nest in swarms.
If you’ve seen wasps flying in and out of one spot on your property, you may be dealing with an active nest. It’s best not to try handling it yourself.
Our wasp control process
At Magic City Pest Control, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pest control. Here's how we handle wasps:
- Inspection and identification: We start by identifying the type of wasp and locating the nest. Knowing the species helps us choose the best approach.
- Targeted treatment: We use products and materials like Waspfreeze or Bifen, which work quickly and are effective without putting your home or family at risk.
- Nest removal: If the nest is accessible (up to 25 feet high), we’ll safely remove it to make sure wasps don’t return to the same spot.
- Follow-up and prevention: We’ll talk through ways to keep wasps from coming back—like sealing gaps, trimming vegetation, or moving attractants like open trash bins.
Should you call right away?
Yes. The sooner we’re able to assess the situation, the easier and safer it is to resolve. We always recommend calling right away—especially since some species (like Africanized bees) may look like wasps and can be extremely aggressive. And no, you don’t need to prep anything before we arrive. We’ll take it from there.
What about honey bees?
We do not treat or remove honey bees. These pollinators are protected and important to the environment. If you suspect honey bees are nesting on your property, we’ll help connect you with a licensed beekeeper who can safely relocate them.
Year-round peace of mind
Most of our customers aren’t calling about one nest—they’re looking for ongoing relief from wasps and hornets. Our recurring pest control plans are built to keep you protected through every season. Whether it’s springtime activity or late-summer swarms, we’ve got you covered.
Need wasps gone? Give us a shout. We’ll send a technician out, take care of the problem, and make sure your yard is safe again. Because you shouldn’t have to share your space with something that stings.
